Position Overview: The MRC Epidemiology Unit is in search of a dedicated Biological Sample Coordinator.

About the MRC Epidemiology Unit: This unit operates under the University of Cambridge's School of Clinical Medicine and is located within the Institute of Metabolic Science on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Our mission focuses on investigating the genetic, developmental, and environmental factors contributing to obesity, diabetes, and related metabolic disorders, while also formulating strategies for their prevention. The Unit is supported by extensive, large-scale epidemiological studies that yield detailed datasets, facilitating a broad spectrum of research from genetics to public health. Our highly skilled information teams and other specialized groups assist scientists in achieving their research objectives.
Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate should possess an HNC or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field, demonstrate strong organizational abilities, exhibit a collaborative team spirit, and have experience in managing biological samples. Familiarity with sample data management using MS Excel/Access or a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) would be advantageous. A valid UK driving license is required, and access to a vehicle is preferred.
Contract Duration: This position is funded until a specified date.
