About the Role:

Aqumen Recruitment is seeking a skilled CAD Design Engineer to join our team in a dynamic and rewarding environment. As a CAD Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating detailed piping isometrics and steelwork drawings using AutoCAD or similar drawing software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transform hand-drawn field sketches into detailed CAD drawings, incorporating essential information such as PED, Piping Classes, Flange Ratings, Pipe Schedule, Materials Take Off, NDE Requirements, and Paint Requirements.
• Engage in general arrangement (GA) modelling and design activities for piping systems and supports.
• Produce piping isometrics and detailed steelwork drawings suitable for fabrication, including piece mill part drawings, parallel line developments, and templates.
• Extract and create isometric drawings from GA/3D models and issue them to the workshop for fabrication.
• Ensure all designs adhere to P&IDs, industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
• Provide technical input during the detailed engineering phase of projects and support the preparation of construction work packs, including weld maps and NDE requirements.

Requirements:

• Proficient user of AutoCAD or similar drawing software.
• Previous experience in the Mechanical Engineering industry is essential.
• Familiarity with ASME and BS EN standards is crucial.
• Knowledge of piping design and calculations is a significant asset.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
