Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Customer Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at BEUMER Group. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and support to our clients. Your primary focus will be on providing timely and effective maintenance and repair services for our material handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform planned preventative maintenance tasks as part of pre-agreed service contracts, including replacing worn parts and inspecting associated components for wear and tear on both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Service Reporting: Produce detailed service reports related to BEUMER sortation and material handling equipment.
  • Installation and Modernization Support: Assist with installation projects, modernizations, and warranty work.
  • Breakdown Support: Respond to breakdowns, troubleshoot, test, and repair technical equipment.
  • Operational and Residential Site Cover: Provide coverage for operational and residential sites around the UK.
  • Low-Level Controls: Work with Siemens S7 PLC, TIA Portal, Profibus, and ASi-Bus networks.
  • RAMS Documentation: Populate RAMS related to the work to be undertaken.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to H&S standards.

Requirements:

  • Field Service Experience: Proven experience in field service with the ability to build positive relationships with customers.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Control Knowledge: High level of electrical/mechanical control knowledge and awareness.
  • Siemens S7 PLC Experience: Experience of or ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC, TIA Portal, Profibus, and ASi-Bus networks.
  • Material Handling Systems: Broad knowledge of Material Handling systems.
  • Qualifications: Electrical or multi-skilled qualification – ONC or Equivalent.
  • Fault Finding and Troubleshooting: Ability to fault find on electrical and mechanical systems to diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
  • Customer Requirements: Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • CSCS, First Aid, IOSH, IPAF: CSCS, First Aid, IOSH, IPAF qualifications would be an advantage.
  • English Literacy: English literacy.

Additional Information:

Flexibility will be required as there will be night, weekend work, and some call-outs to suit customer requirements. Ideally, the candidate will be situated in the Midlands or North West.
