Theatre Nurse / ODP Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Nurse / ODP to join our close-knit multidisciplinary team at Nuffield Health Oxford. As a Theatre Nurse / ODP, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our theatres.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning and delivery of patient care, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and provide clear, concise information to patients and their families.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of operating theatres, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
  • Supervise and support junior members of staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their development and growth.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Registered with the appropriate governing body (NMC or HCPC).
  • Post-registration experience in a theatre or perioperative setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and shifts.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
