About the Role:
Barnardo's is seeking a dedicated and passionate Residential Support Worker to join our Leicestershire Residential Services team. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with service users to promote their independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
- Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
- Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date to support service user care and planning.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times, promoting a safe environment for service users.
Requirements:
- Hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to successfully achieve this within the required timeframe.
- Relevant experience working with children and young people, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
- Motivation to make a positive difference in young people's lives, creating a safe space and building resilience.
- Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
