We're seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Co-Founder in Residence, focusing on decarbonising industrial process heat. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with our team and a current Founder in Residence to co-found and spin-out a new company, addressing the significant challenge of reducing emissions in industrial heat production.
About the OpportunityIndustrial process heat is a critical component of various manufacturing processes, accounting for a substantial portion of global emissions. By electrifying heating sources, we can significantly reduce these emissions and stay on track for Net Zero by 2050. However, the current economics of direct electrification are challenging, and industrial-scale heat pumps are the key to bridging this gap. Our goal is to develop a fully-integrated, modular heat pump solution that can compete with existing natural gas-powered heating systems.
Requirements- Proven experience in leading or managing commercial delivery of innovative engineering, industrial, or hardware technology ventures;
- Industry-specific know-how and commercial knowledge, particularly in food & beverage ingredients manufacture, paper & pulp making, or non-metallic minerals manufacture;
- Experience in startup ecosystems and fundraising, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and ability to translate scientific discoveries into commercial opportunities;
- Leadership experience, with project management and collaborative skills to work with colleagues across different teams.
- Access to optimised, purpose-built tools, resources, and processes to create high-impact ventures from scratch;
- Opportunity area-specific know-how from our network of Partners and Advisors;
- Up to £250k in investment to incorporate the new venture and develop early proof-of-concept data;
- Guaranteed income of £4,166 per month paid as a consultancy fee until the company is launched and the pre-seed investment is secured;
- Majority equity stake in the new company for you and your co-founders;
- Continuous post-spinout support, including fundraising, commercial partnerships, recruitment, and team-building.
