Job Summary

Utah State University is seeking a Part Time Maintenance Technician to support the goals and vision of the Maintenance Department by carrying out repairs and modifications to campus equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as completing preventative maintenance routines and taking corrective action as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in repairs or modifications to University equipment or property according to requirements prioritized by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, air and water systems, using schematics, diagrams, sketches, manufacturer's repair specifications, and tools such as hand tools, power tools, hoists, and forklift trucks.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines and take corrective action as needed.
  • Responsible for University-wide maintenance requirements, report or recommend needed steps, or take necessary action in case of emergencies.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations as per OSHA and University standards.
  • Be dependable and reliable.
  • Be willing to actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Be willing to work as part of a team.
  • Be able to work required overtime as needed.
