Morgan Hunt is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Instructor to join the team at Lewisham College on a temporary basis. If you possess the qualifications and experience outlined below, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering comprehensive Further Education and Training curriculum tailored for SEN students as the primary instructor for the class or group.
- Designing and organizing lessons, resources, and support to facilitate learners in achieving their educational goals.
- Utilizing the College's digital platforms to monitor student progress and attendance.
- Providing high-quality, interactive lessons with clear learning objectives.
- Inspiring and motivating students through contemporary teaching methodologies.
- Assigning and assessing regular, challenging homework aligned with student capabilities.
- Adhering to quality assurance protocols (gathering learner feedback, conducting lesson observations, implementing action plans).
- Participating in meetings and professional development training days.
- Ensuring meticulous completion of class registers, managing administrative tasks, and grading.
- Performing any additional duties as required by the institution.
- Significant experience in the Further Education and Training sector.
- Possession of a UK recognized teaching qualification (DTLLS, PCET, PGCE, or QCF Level 5 Diploma in Education).
- Prior experience as a SEN Instructor or Teacher with a proven track record in student retention and achievement.
- GCSEs in both Mathematics and English, at grades A-C or equivalent.
- A valid DBS registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
- Demonstrated experience of consistently delivering good or outstanding teaching.
