About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Crewkerne facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the site operates safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Operational Plans: Develop and implement operational and strategic plans for all manufacturing activities within the site to meet business targets, milestones, and key performance indicators.
  • Prioritize Production Schedules: Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, available capacity, equipment efficiency, and material supply.
  • Manage Workforce Planning: Execute workforce planning requirements to ensure products are manufactured and delivered in accordance with the master production schedule.
  • Coordinate Site Activities: Coordinate activities relating to the management of infrastructure and day-to-day running of the site.
  • Manage Budgets and Costs: Plan, monitor, and adhere to budgets, controlling capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor costs.
  • Project Manage Non-Development Programs: Project manage non-development programs, NPI transitions, and special projects.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing Principles: Apply, maintain, and improve lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality requirements.
  • Align Legacy Processes: Align any legacy processes and procedures to the latest Eaton standard.
  • Lead Audits and EHS: Take a leading role in the preparation and completion of internal, customer, and regulatory audits. Ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards are monitored and maintained.
  • Drive Improvement Initiatives: Identify and drive improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve on-time delivery, working closely with other Eaton sites to share best practice and develop synergies.
  • Apply Change Control Procedures: Apply standard change control procedures and provide leadership in order to engage the team in continuously improving their performance.
  • Execute HR Policy: Execute company HR policy in line with authorization levels.
  • Manage Team Absence and Leave: Manage team absence and annual leave, identifying training needs and plans.
  • Lead Recruitment and Integration: Lead or actively participate in recruitment and integration of new team members.
  • Develop and Coach Team Members: Manage, coach, and develop team members, using the Personal Development Reviews to evaluate performance.
Requirements
  • Academic Qualifications: Academic studies to BSc/HNC/HND level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience and Skills: Proven experience in manufacturing or related roles. Composites, manufacturing, and engineering background. Understanding of aerospace and defense regulations. Advanced levels of business acumen and leadership experience. Advanced knowledge in the skills, tools, techniques, disciplines, and processes of Manufacturing Management. Strong knowledge and practitioner of Lean and improvement techniques. Experienced user of MRP/ERP systems.
