Financial Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Support Specialist to join our team at Reed Accountancy. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Management Accountant with the preparation of monthly accounts and providing financial support across a group of 4 companies.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Management Accountant in preparing monthly accounts for 4 companies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Post receipts, payments, and nominal transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain and reconcile hire purchase schedules and loan accounts, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Upload sales to the accounting system from our operational software Syrinx and perform reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Generate sales reports and handle intercompany recharge invoicing, providing valuable insights to the business.
- Support the Accounts Payable process, including new supplier setup and bank detail verification, ensuring seamless payment processing.
- Manage employee expenses and credit card postings, maintaining a high level of financial accuracy.
- Produce weekly debtors reports and assist with Credit Control, ensuring timely payment from customers.
- Collate monthly payroll information for submission to external payroll providers, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Engage in system and process development to improve efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
- Experience in a similar Assistant Accountant role, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Xero is desirable but not essential, as we are open to training the right candidate.
- Part-qualified, HNC, HND, or AAT qualifications are desirable, but not essential, as we are willing to invest in the right candidate's development.
