Job Title: Innovation Support Manager

Birkbeck University of London is seeking an experienced Innovation Support Manager to join its Innovation Support Unit. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing the unit and working closely with colleagues across the university to promote innovation and commercialisation.

About the Role

The Innovation Support Manager will be responsible for leading high-performance teams in innovation, enterprise, and partnership in a higher education setting. This is an exciting opportunity to build Birkbeck's capability in innovation and commercialisation, and the successful candidate will have effective team, organisational, and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and lead the Innovation Support Unit, working closely with colleagues across the university.
  • Develop and provide an essential, professional service to build Birkbeck's capability for innovation and commercialisation.
  • Apply effective team, organisational, and project management skills to established and new projects.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to the Innovation and Commercialisation Board.
  • Provide excellent presentation skills and the ability to analyse complex information to inform decisions and advice on innovation projects.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have demonstrable leadership skills, be able to think strategically and flexibly, and support their team on a wide range of work including business partnering, contracts and IP, budget projections and management, and course delivery. The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
