About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and caring Support Worker to join our team in the Scottish Islands. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals with varying needs, including learning disabilities, elderly, dementia, physical disabilities, and challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist service users with daily tasks such as meal preparation, medication administration, moving and handling, household tasks, and general domiciliary care.
  • Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing of service users with additional needs.
  • Build relationships with service users and their families, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
  • Work effectively in a team, liaising with wider teams to ensure the best level of care is provided.
  • Manage challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a care home or community care/care at home environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and stay calm in stressful situations.
  • Strong ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
  • Moving and handling training and medication administration training.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).
