Rheumatology Consultant with Expertise in Psoriatic Arthritis
3 months ago
Position Overview
We invite applications for the role of Consultant in Rheumatology, specifically focusing on Psoriatic Arthritis, at a leading healthcare institution.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting five outpatient rheumatology clinics weekly. Additionally, the role includes participation in educational initiatives, management audits, and the mentorship of junior medical staff and students. The rheumatology department is currently undergoing a service redesign aimed at enhancing care pathways that integrate both primary and secondary healthcare services. The appointee will be encouraged to engage in these transformative projects. Furthermore, there is an active research agenda and a well-established clinical trials unit, providing opportunities for research involvement, which can be discussed separately.
Candidates must possess full registration with the GMC and ideally hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Rheumatology or be within six months of obtaining it at the time of the interview. Applications are welcomed from individuals who may require flexible working arrangements or those interested in job-sharing opportunities.
As part of our commitment to fostering a supportive medical workforce, all newly appointed Consultants are required to participate in a comprehensive five-day Consultant Development program within their first year of employment. This innovative program is designed to enhance leadership and management skills essential for success in a clinical environment.
Working Environment
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in English, encompassing listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills, which are crucial for effective communication regarding medical matters with patients and colleagues, as outlined in the GMC's Good Medical Practice. Non-UK applicants must complete the IELTS/OET examination prior to obtaining a GMC license to practice.
Applications from candidates requiring skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are encouraged and will be evaluated alongside all other submissions.
