Job Title: Commercial Insurance Account Handler

At Verlingue, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Insurance Account Handler to join our team in Manchester. As a key member of our Commercial Client Services team, you will be responsible for providing a quality service to clients in respect of renewal and new business insurance arrangements.

Main Purpose of the Job:

To provide a quality service to clients in respect of renewal and new business insurance arrangements advising, arranging, and securing appropriate cover for our clients' demands and needs.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Maintaining Relationships: Maintain relationships, interaction, and liaison with insurers on a day-to-day basis.
  • Processing and Administration: Process MTA's and administration, ensuring all communications, documents, and invoices are issued in a compliant way in line with company Policies & Procedures and full utilisation of Acturis.
  • Client Communication: Answer the telephone, ensuring that information given is accurately recorded.
  • Knowledge and Development: Update knowledge of the insurance market as and when developments occur, and continue to improve in technical insurance knowledge. A minimum of Cert CII will be required within 12 months of employment.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with the accounts department as and when required.
New Business:
  • Broking Clients: Broking clients under £10k premium (or passing to Corporate) and Scheme / Facility business.
  • Invoicing: Invoicing.
  • Policy Wordings: Policy wordings – checking correct and suitable for client demands, needs, and cover requirements.
  • Risk Register Production: Risk Register production.
Renewal Business:
  • Client Updates: Updating records with any changes to client demands, needs, cover requirements, Fact Finds, and underwriting information.
  • Broking Presentations: Production of initial draft Broking presentation for Broker.
  • Pipeline Register: Pipeline register completion.
  • Terms and Renewal Reports: Obtaining terms from holding insurers, Renewal Report production, and invoicing.
  • Premium Finance: Premium finance negotiation and administration.
  • Risk Register Production: Risk Register production.
  • Policy Wordings: Policy wordings – ensuring correct and suitable for client demands, needs, and cover requirements.
Person Specification:
  • Certification: Cert CII - desirable.
  • Experience: Previous experience in the insurance industry, preferably with Commercial Client Servicing experience.
  • System Knowledge: Good working knowledge of the Acturis system and on-line broking systems.
  • Business Knowledge: Good working knowledge of General Commercial Lines business and the Broking market.
  • Professional Qualifications: A willingness to pursue professional qualifications.
  • Communication Skills: A Can-do attitude with good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Administration: Excellent and accurate administration.
  • IT Skills: Ability to utilise IT for maximum advantage.
  • Drive and Results: Drive to achieve results, solve problems, and deliver service and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Relationship Building: Good relationship building and influencing skills.
