About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our team at Galliford Try. As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the Framework Head of HS&E on all environmental aspects, implementing the HS&E strategy and systems to ensure exemplary environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Foster a culture of environmental excellence, promoting inclusive and collaborative practices that drive continuous improvement.
  2. Support the implementation of our HS&E strategy, addressing short-, medium-, and long-term growth and learning initiatives.
  3. Promote a positive HS&S culture aligned with Galliford Try's Challenging Beliefs and Affecting Behaviours programme and business leadership ambitions.
  4. Implement our environmental management system, ensuring alignment with client requirements and driving performance through processes and standards.
  5. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, supply chain partners, regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and colleagues, throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Provide environmental input to operational teams from planning to completion, offering technical and specialist guidance and advice to support proactive planning and implementation of our standards.
  7. Utilize environmental performance KPIs to review performance and drive continuous improvement.
  8. Contribute to unlocking gains in environmental performance and mitigating risk to GT through environmental-related issues.
  9. Collaborate with teams on all HS&E matters affecting projects and escalate/report environmental concerns to the Framework HS&E Manager and Operations Team.
About You:

We are looking for an individual with a strong track record in environmental management, systems, risks, and legal frameworks. Ideally, you will have experience in infrastructure, water, or similar regulated markets. You should be able to evidence a well-structured, systematic approach to identifying and analyzing problems, understanding risks, and implementing appropriate solutions.
