Key Responsibilities:
As the Lead Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing a project valued at £100M from its inception through to its successful completion. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated commercial team, reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, ensuring effective financial oversight of substantial work packages while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations, risk management, and ongoing financial reporting.
Your daily tasks will encompass:
- Providing insights on the financial viability of projects during initial phases.
- Structuring projects into manageable work packages for procurement, evaluating subcontractor returns, and allocating work packages accordingly.
- Engaging in negotiations with subcontractor networks to secure optimal value.
- Overseeing payment requests from subcontractors and preparing client payment applications.
- Tracking and analyzing actual spending against budgeted figures through Cost Value Reconciliation Reports (CVR).
Candidate Profile:
This position is ideal for individuals who can showcase:
- Experience with large two-stage bids (preferred).
- Comprehensive understanding of NEC and JCT contract frameworks.
- Previous involvement with main contracting firms.
- A proven history of successfully delivering high-value projects, specifically up to £100M.
