GLOBAL SOURCING LEAD

This role is accountable for designated categories and the formulation of worldwide category strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing cost efficiency, streamlining the supplier network, and delivering value to the organization while minimizing risk. The position involves orchestrating and spearheading strategy implementation activities that support both Direct and Indirect expenditures. The primary emphasis will be on the Sugar & Sweeteners categories within the Traded Commodities Portfolio, which encompasses a diverse range of commodity-based raw materials such as grains, edible oils, and sugar.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees global procurement activities for assigned categories.
  • Facilitates negotiations for procured goods and services to ensure optimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) encompassing Cost, Quality, Delivery, and Innovation.
  • Formulates and executes strategies to achieve the lowest overall costs while managing risks to the organization.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of market dynamics, supply chains, and supplier capabilities.
  • Assists in make-or-buy analyses.
  • Conducts formal presentations and coordinates supplier evaluations.
  • Engages in the planning and forecasting processes to establish standard costs and clarify price variances at the divisional level.
  • Ensures a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing the needs of divisional projects and providing purchasing guidance and leadership.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience in a Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with relevant business exposure.
  • Proven track record in project management, including execution or involvement in large-scale, multifaceted, or cross-functional projects.
  • Experience in leading projects and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop dynamic teams.
  • Proven success in implementing significant cost-saving measures.
  • In-depth knowledge of industries relevant to assigned categories.
  • Technical proficiency in assigned categories.
  • Ability to leverage systems to enhance supplier performance and negotiation power.
  • Competence in assessing and analyzing moderately complex business challenges.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or an equivalent advanced degree.
  • Certification in Procurement Management (CPM) or APICS.
