Job Description

Job Title: Director of Banking and Risk Management

Job Summary:

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Director of Banking and Risk Management to join our team. As a key member of our Institutional Credit Management (ICM) function, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and expertise in credit risk management, underwriting, and monitoring for wholesale credit risk across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line-of-defense credit approval for complex transactions and balance sheet commitments.
  • Develop and implement leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, including the end-to-end underwriting process.
  • Collaborate with global and regional business heads, independent risk, regulators, and other control functions to ensure effective risk management.
  • Facilitate relationships with key clients in banking and risk, and with key regulators, internal audit, and control functions.
  • Oversee underwriting and internal risk assessment teams/credit associates in preparing key deliverables and sign off on their work product/standards.
  • Support the Global Head of ICM FI Credit Underwriting on strategic initiatives/projects.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of risk/risk-related credit work experience in banking/financial institutions.
  • L2 Senior Credit Officer designation preferred.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage with regulators and internal control functions, including internal audit and banking and international credit review (BICR), as well as with external audit.
