Senior Bookkeeper Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing daily and monthly transactional finance tasks, including bookkeeping, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and payment runs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts up to trial balance, including bookkeeping, journal postings, and bank reconciliations.
  • Process invoices and manage payment runs.
  • Support the Accountant with month-end reporting and wider business tasks.
  • Proactively support internal and external stakeholders with queries and provide additional support to the Accountant as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience in bookkeeping and financial administration.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Adaptability and a self-starter attitude.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive base salary of up to £32,000 per annum.
  • The opportunity to take on a longer-term contract position.
  • A 12-month fixed-term contract, full-time and based in the local Brechin office.
