Project Engineer Job Description

Thurlow Resource Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join their team in Cambridge. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of product and process projects, working closely with the Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members
  2. Review and approve work of designers, engineers, and other project team members
  3. Ensure project completion within agreed budget and guidelines
  4. Communicate technical details and ideas to stakeholders
  5. Drive design of products meeting market requirements
  6. Identify and mitigate project risks
  7. Analyze and execute alternatives to meet design specifications
  8. Ensure technical accountability for project execution
  9. Conduct design and safety reviews
  10. Recommend process improvements
  11. Maintain awareness of competitive offerings
  12. Collaborate with operations, suppliers, and stakeholders
  13. Present project status to stakeholders
  14. Support manufacturing engineering and Technical Project Manager
  15. Promote a safe and clean work environment

Requirements:

Apprentice-trained or degree/masters-calibre in engineering or QBE/similar discipline with a minimum of 10 years' experience in NPD/machine tool room environment. CNC programming, machine building, fault finding, and repair experience is essential. Machinery automation, PLC programming, CAD, and strip steel reel to reel coil handling experience is an advantage.

Benefits:

25 days holiday (increasing to 30 after a period) plus bank holidays, pension, death in service, and healthcare. This is a Monday to Thursday role, 37 hours per week.
