Job Title: Environmental Safety Lead

Electro-Motive Diesel is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Lead to join our QHSE team. Our ideal candidate will have experience working within a rail safety critical environment, be knowledgeable on the relevant legal and industry responsibilities and standards, and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for improving HSE standards, knowledge, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting operational teams with the production of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Undertaking occupational exposure monitoring, assisting external providers as required, and providing advice on risk management and health surveillance.
  • Assisting with the development and undertaking of HSE Audits and Assessment Plans.
  • Developing and delivering HSE training and identifying suitable external providers as required.
  • Taking the lead on coordinating and facilitating safety committee meetings.
Requirements:
  • Knowledgeable of requirements for working within a rail safety critical environment.
  • Demonstrable experience developing, communicating, and embedding policies, systems, and procedures.
  • Experience training and coaching others, both in groups and 1-2-1, to develop knowledge and improve performance.
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum level 3 Health & Safety qualification, e.g., NEBOSH Certificate.
  • Full UK driving license.

We offer a competitive salary from £45,000, subject to experience, plus a performance-related bonus scheme.
