Residential Worker - Shift Leader - Sunny Bank Community Home

This is an exciting opportunity to join Bridgend County Borough Council as we continue to transform the way we support children who need our care, in line with the Welsh Government's agenda to end profit in children's residential services in Wales.

Sunny Bank is a bespoke home providing assessment, care, and support for young people aged 8-17. We can accommodate up to four young people of any gender at any one time.

Our therapeutic environment uses a trauma-informed approach to provide effective support, enabling young people to understand their circumstances, develop resilience, and self-care skills.

We have access to a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst who supports assessment and therapeutic interventions, working closely with staff to develop bespoke Positive Behavioural Support Plans to reduce challenging behaviours and promote positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the home remains compliant with regulatory requirements.
  2. Support young people to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  3. Work on a flexible basis, including sleeping in and weekend working.
  4. Protect children, young people, or adults at risk.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Qualified to QCF level 3 in children and young people or equivalent, or working towards this qualification.
  2. Registered with Social Care Wales.
  3. The ability to communicate with customers through the medium of Welsh.
  4. Criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
