About the Role

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Adult Mental Health Specialty. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological services to adults in the population served by our Community Mental Health Team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face work with individuals, groups, families, and significant others, as well as consultation work advising staff on the psychological aspects of casework and patient management plans.
  • Conduct psychological assessments and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions for a range of referred difficulties accepted by the service.
  • Provide teaching, training, and supervision of the psychological work of psychologists and staff of other disciplines.
  • Conduct and supervise research and audit, develop and evaluate new clinical and psychological programs, and participate in relevant research/audit groups.
  • Contribute to the development of new psychological services in the Borough and participate in service planning teams as appropriate.
  • Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the activities and developments of this team.
  • Participate fully in the professional activities of the Adult Psychology Specialty and the Gwent Psychology Service.

Requirements

  • Psychology Degree (or equivalent conversion) conferring eligibility for graduate basis of registration with BPS.
  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent).
  • Advanced level of clinical expertise in AMH.
  • Experience across the lifespan.
  • Experience of service leadership.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-graduate research degree.
  • Accreditation in a psychological therapy.
  • Academic teaching experience.
