Key Responsibilities- Line manage a team of finance staff and provide guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop and implement strategies to optimize financial performance.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare and present financial reports and statements to senior management and stakeholders, providing clear and concise analysis and recommendations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective financial planning and budgeting, and provide financial guidance and support to business units.
- Manage and maintain financial systems and processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and implement financial training programs for staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

- Maths and English GCSE Grade C or equivalent.
- Professional finance background, including management experience in school/academy finance.
- Experience with purchase orders, sales invoices, and monthly reconciliations.
- Skilled in drafting and editing financial spreadsheets and documents.
- Strong IT skills and ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adhere to performance indicators.
- Flexible approach to training, tailored to learner needs.
- Professional, organised, and detail-oriented.
- Able to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently.
- Enthusiastic and committed to handling demanding tasks.
- Flexible with daily work patterns.
- Capable of developing and implementing new procedures.

- Finance qualification (e.g. Level 4 ILM Diploma for School Business Managers, AAT) or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in IT packages for preparing and presenting financial data.
- Experience with education financial management software (IRIS Financials/Access Education Budgets).
