Local Authority Safeguarding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Service as a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families in Wokingham.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide expert advice and guidance to employers and voluntary organisations on safeguarding and quality assurance.
- Liaise with the police, children's social care, other local authorities, and relevant agencies to ensure effective investigations and decision-making.
- Manage the allegation process, including chairing meetings and monitoring progress to ensure a thorough and fair process.
- Develop and deliver bespoke training and development programs for the children's workforce on safeguarding and quality assurance.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the service, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the safety and well-being of children.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the effectiveness of the LADO service.
- A competitive salary of £57,707 - £60,921, including a £3,000 market supplement.

We are looking for a candidate with a social work qualification and at least four years of post-qualifying experience in children's services, with a strong background in safeguarding and quality assurance.
