This position is based within a prominent teaching hospital, providing a unique chance to engage with a diverse patient population and collaborate with high-caliber healthcare professionals. The Hounslow Liaison Psychiatry Service is recognized for its strong partnerships with the hospital, an effective training program, and a commitment to service enhancement and innovation.
The successful candidate will become part of a cohesive, well-structured, and PLAN-accredited team that includes two full-time consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
The post-holder will collaborate with the liaison service team manager and fellow consultants to deliver clinical expertise in evaluating and managing patients within the hospital setting.
A primary objective of this role is to enhance the overall quality of care provided in the hospital. The consultant will be responsible for developing training initiatives for hospital teams and contributing to the refinement of hospital systems aimed at improving patient outcomes. This is a key priority for the Trust and its acute care partners.
Establishing strong relationships with colleagues in the acute trust is essential for success in this role. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and a proven track record of fostering partnerships with a variety of professionals.
The consultant will also participate in the trust-wide liaison psychiatry senior management team, contributing to strategic advancements and clinical governance within the service.
