We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team at United Living Group. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a critical role in the installation and testing of our projects, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out mechanical installation and refurbishment works on existing water company sites in accordance with project requirements and programme.
- Work on client sites across the region, traveling to sites and staying overnight as required.
- Work outside and on sites that convey sewage as well as drinking water, complying with necessary hygiene standards.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Assist the project team in specifying job requirements and parts/equipment/materials needed for the job.
- Compile survey reports for quotation purposes and complete required paperwork for each project.
- Utilize design drawings and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
- Troubleshoot issues and follow correct procedures to identify solutions and ensure effective implementation.
- Be accountable for the health and safety of yourself and others under your control, adhering to Company policies and procedures.
- Work as part of a team, cooperating with other staff/trades and ensuring quality of work meets Company standards.
- Comply with Company policies, procedures, and work instructions, including commitment to OH&S, environmental, and quality objectives.
- Observe and comply with all good working practices, working at heights and in confined spaces in industrial environments.
- 2+ years' related experience in mechanical installation and testing, preferably in the UK water sector.
- Qualified mechanical fitter (NVQ or 'City and Guilds' level 3) (essential).
- Valid UK driving licence (essential).
- Confined spaces training (preferable).
- CSCS card (advantageous).
- EUSR clean water card (preferable).
- Emergency first aid or First Aider (preferable).
- Able to work well in a team and give as well as take instruction.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Excellent health and safety knowledge and application.
- Willingness to learn and undertake training as required.
- Positive 'can do' attitude with flexible approach to work and ability to work on own initiative.
