About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator/Setter to join our team at Workforce Staffing Ltd. The role involves setting up and operating Heller 4 & 5 Axis CNC Machines for production and managing a FASTEMS pallet system to ensure the efficient operation of the machining cell.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate 4 and 5 Axis Heller CNC machines within a machining cell.
  • Utilize Siemens, Fanuc, or Mazatrol controls for precise machine operation.
  • Efficiently operate the FASTEMS pallet system (experience preferred).
  • Maintain high quality standards by working to tight tolerances and conducting in-process measurements.
  • Load and unload CNC machine tools as per production requirements.
  • Strictly adhere to all established processes and procedures.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
  • Modify tool offsets as needed and manage tooling requirements.
  • Change fixtures and support the programming team (programming experience is a plus).

Accountabilities:

  • Safety:

    • Perform risk assessments and follow safe work practices.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area according to 5S principles.

    • Ensure consistent quality of all parts produced.
    • Apply knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality principles.
    • Create jigs and fixtures to improve productivity.
  • Delivery & Cost Efficiency:
    • Maximize the potential of 4 and 5 Axis machines.
    • Accurately interpret component drawings.
    • Share expertise and knowledge with colleagues.
    • Optimize cutting times and minimize scrap and waste.
    • Reduce tooling costs and promote process improvements.
  • People:
    • Demonstrate responsiveness, agility, creativity, and innovation in daily tasks.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and foster a collaborative environment.

    • Be actively involved in and adaptable to change.

Performance Measures:

  • Meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Performance Indicators (PIs) as agreed upon.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating CNC machine tools with Siemens, Fanuc, or Mazatrol controls.
  • Experience with the FASTEMS pallet system is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in tool management, fixture changing, and in-process measurement.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and ISO 9001.
