About the Role:

Penspen Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corrosion Engineer to join our team in Newcastle. As a key member of our Asset Integrity team, you will be responsible for managing projects, clients, and executing technical work in cooperation with our Senior Integrity Engineers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution: Manage and execute projects within the integrity discipline, including project planning, coordination, and delivery.
  • Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing technical support and guidance as required.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership and expertise in areas such as defect assessment, fracture mechanics, PIMS, finite element analysis, materials, corrosion management, fatigue analysis, stress/strain analysis, free-span analysis, fitness for service, and relevant codes, standards, and recommended practices.
  • Proposal Development: Develop and submit technical proposals and reports to clients and stakeholders.
  • Travel: Travel to various locations to support activities, including client sites and Penspen offices.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Asset Integrity team to develop and maintain our technical knowledge base, including hard-to-obtain knowledge, lessons learned, and practical know-how.
  • Software Development: Collaborate with the technical community to develop recommendations for the adoption of third-party software and concepts for new products and services.
  • Competency Assessment: Support the identification and assessment of competencies of third parties for project execution, mentoring, training, product development, sales, and marketing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a subject related to the technical discipline.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in Asset Integrity or a related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in areas such as defect assessment, fracture mechanics, PIMS, finite element analysis, materials, corrosion management, fatigue analysis, stress/strain analysis, free-span analysis, fitness for service, and relevant codes, standards, and recommended practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel and work at various locations.
  • Relevant administrative software skills, including Microsoft.
  • Experience with relevant technical software, such as QuestFFS, Crackwise, Abaqus, Caesar, Mathcad, etc.
