Job Title: Physical ASIC Design Implementation Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physical ASIC Design Implementation Engineer to join our team at imec. As a key member of our Physical Digital Implementation group, you will be responsible for the physical design and implementation of advanced electronic products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement physical ASIC designs using Cadence Innovus Place&Route flow
  • Develop and optimize low power design, floorplanning, and power grid design
  • Perform detailed timing driven placement, STA, and design optimization
  • Implement clock tree synthesis, scan chain re-stitching, and detailed timing driven routing
  • Solve setup and hold violations, and perform sign-off extraction, timing, and power analysis
  • Work with the Physical Design implementation team to drive sign-off closure for tape-out
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Electronics or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in physical implementation in advanced nodes (12 – 7nm) and hierarchical designs
  • Experience in power reduction techniques like gated clocks, voltage domains, memory retention, and switch off power domains
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within an international team
  • Ability to interact with customers and provide technical support
