About the Role:

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Care Planning Specialist to join our Safeguarding & Quality Assurance Team at Powys County Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair Child Protection Conferences and Child Looked After reviews to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
  • Review and monitor care plans to prevent drift and delay, promoting the voice of the child and participation and engagement of children and families.
  • Work effectively with partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and families.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and partner agencies to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Provide advocacy and support to children and families, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to child protection and care planning.

Requirements:

  • Excellent chairing skills, including the ability to manage meetings, summarise and present information.
  • Strong minute-taking skills for some meetings.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, families, and partner agencies.
