We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Services team in Banbury, Oxfordshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality audit and accounting services to our clients, working closely with partners and managers to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities- Support partners and managers in delivering quality service to clients with compliance and planning matters.
- Manage and deliver ad hoc projects and assignments, reviewing and preparing client accounts, tax, and VAT-based work to the required standards.
- Undertake remuneration planning exercises, complete and supervise audit assignments, and assist with higher-level technical client audit accounts and taxation compliance work.
- Identify points for partners to raise with clients and potential areas for additional services, including added value services and advice.
- Finalize paperwork for dispatch to clients and HMRC, meeting required deadlines and quality standards.
- Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information for their accounts, acting proactively and ensuring attention to detail and effective questioning.
- Monitor own job quality and quantity, meeting agreed budgets and exceeding targets where possible.
- Record own chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery.
- Support trainees by providing on-the-job coaching and supervision, and reviewing trainee assignments.
- Attend courses appropriate to the job role and use support networks to clarify knowledge on complex queries.
- Review and prepare client tax returns, advise on tax payable and payment dates, and meet deadlines in line with the firm's standards.
- Assist clients with accounts software and other queries as required.
- Involvement in client seminars, including attendance and setup where required.
- Involvement in networking and business generation under the guidance of more senior team members.
- Excellent problem resolution skills and idea generation ability.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Strong active listening skills.
- Ability to review and prepare client accounts, tax, and VAT quickly and efficiently.
- Essential: ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Desirable: Degree or equivalent experience.
- Essential: Minimum of 2 years of proven accounts experience within a practice environment.
- Desirable: Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero.

Standard contract is 37.5 hours a week, 7.5 hours, 5 days. 5 hours each day must be worked between 8:30-5, and the rest can be flexed. Hybrid working, 60% in the office.
