Job Title: Mechanic (3 Posts)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at Glasgow City Council. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of our fleet of vehicles to DVSA and Health and Safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, maintain, and repair vehicles to DVSA and Health and Safety standards
  • Attend breakdowns as required
  • Complete all relevant associated paperwork
  • Hold a current driving licence or be willing to gain an LGV category C driving licence entitlement within 12 months of start date
  • Have a current knowledge of vehicle systems, including electric vehicles, and legal requirements with regard to vehicle condition to MOT standard
  • Have good communication, organisational, diagnostic/report writing skills, and the ability to work to tight time schedules and on own initiative or as part of a team

Working Hours:

We operate a 2 shift system: Dayshift: Monday - Thursday 08:00hrs to 16:30 hrs and Friday 08:00hrs to 13:30hrs Backshift: Monday to Thursday 13:00hrs - 21:30hrs and Friday 12 noon - 17:30hrs. Please note that operational hours are subject to review and may change.
