Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Health Visitor Specialist to join our team at Central London Community Health Trust. As a key member of our health visiting service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to children and families in our community.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide health advice and education to families and individuals, promoting healthy lifestyles and well-being.
  • Conduct developmental assessments of babies and children, identifying areas of concern and developing tailored support plans.
  • Work with families to address issues such as postnatal depression, providing emotional support and guidance.
  • Establish and address key health needs, ensuring that families receive the support they require to maintain good health.
  • Referral to and liaison with other relevant organizations, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
  • Assess parenting skills and children's home situations, offering parents additional support as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, GPs, and school nurses, to provide comprehensive care.

Person Specification
  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of continuing post-registration education and training
  • Recent health visiting experience
  • Ability to co-ordinate health promotion initiatives in line with local and national health improvement targets
  • Experience of assessing, planning, and implementing programmes of care and writing support to others
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive to client and organisational needs
