Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Essential Employment. This role involves a comprehensive understanding of structural challenges related to various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural design for various materials including reinforced concrete, timber, masonry, and structural steel.
  • Perform feasibility assessments and structural surveys to evaluate stability and condition.
  • Assess subsidence and ground stability, providing expert advice on maintenance and repair of both traditional and modern properties.
  • Engage in party wall assessments in line with relevant legislation.
  • Oversee long-term monitoring and health and safety inspections of properties.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, particularly Part A related to structure.
  • Conduct environmental assessments, including flood risk and drainage strategies.
  • Manage demolition contracts and land remediation projects from initial feasibility to completion.
  • Prepare detailed briefs for suppliers to facilitate major capital projects.
  • Evaluate supplier outputs and develop site remediation strategies as necessary.
