About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the Butterkist popcorn factory in Pontefract. As a key member of our Engineering function, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and maintenance engineering service to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintenance of production and ancillary equipment, property, and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with production plans.
  • Create and maintain accurate maintenance records, including PPM schedules, and complete data entry within specified timescales.
  • Act as host for contractors working on site, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and completed, and that safe working practices are agreed prior to commencement of work.
  • Respond to requests from production for engineering assistance and monitor visual management boards to ensure flagged items are addressed promptly.
  • Collaborate with production teams to improve their knowledge of equipment and ability to quickly identify and resolve problems, or refer as necessary.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures in conjunction with the food quality management system and retailer-specific technical standards.
  • Contribute to health and safety initiatives, identifying hazards and risks, and ensuring all health and safety procedures and safe working practices are followed at all times.
