We are seeking a highly skilled Actuary to join our team as an Asset Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for developing processes and procedures to ensure derivative operations are functioning within policy standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Derivative Risk Management: Provide SME support for derivative risks and retained operations, ensuring they are in line with market and regulatory deadlines and best practice.
  • Asset Services Management: Proactively work with stakeholders and third-party providers to ensure all asset services activities are managed effectively.
  • Collateral Monitoring: Monitor and reconcile collateral positions with Investment Manager and Custodian, ensuring sufficient liquidity availability for daily margin calls.
  • Risk Management: Monitor derivative risks and ensure they are in line with Risk appetite.
  • Third-Party Collaboration: Assist third parties with agreed retained services delivery for the respective service area.
  • Industry Expertise: Possess experience in the asset management/investment industry, with a good knowledge and experience of life assurance and pensions business.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Have a good understanding of the regulatory environment and industry awareness in the UK for life offices and working with the regulators.
  • Derivative Expertise: Possess excellent derivative and/or investment background preferably within a Life Insurance company, Asset Manager or Consultancy.
  • OTC Derivatives: Understand the key risk and controls needed for OTC derivatives.
