About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Isotope Laboratory Technician to join our team at the European Geosciences Union. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for maintaining the clean laboratories and troubleshooting laboratory and mass spectrometry issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the clean laboratories and troubleshoot laboratory and mass spectrometry issues.
  • Provide training and supervision to internal and external users.
  • Develop and establish new laboratory and instrumentation procedures.
  • Conduct research as time allows.
  • Oversee clean laboratory chemistry orders and budgeting.
Requirements
  • Educated to postgraduate (MSc or PhD) level or completed the qualification by the start date of the contract.
  • Experience in wet chemistry.
  • Strong digital competence and data processing skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Ability to solve problems and plan solutions in mass spectrometry and clean laboratories.
  • Knowledge of compliance with laboratory health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with coding for data reduction routines.
  • Prior experience of training and supervision of lab users.
