About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Horticulture Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education Hull. As a Horticulture Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teacher in delivering horticulture lessons and creating a structured and engaging learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher in delivering horticulture lessons and creating a learning environment that promotes participation and enjoyment.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them understand and complete horticulture-related tasks and projects.
  • Modify and adapt learning materials to meet the specific needs of each student, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
Requirements
  • Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Strong skills in gardening and outdoor nature activities.
  • Experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of horticulture practices and the capability to teach these skills practically.
  • Exhibit patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with children with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
