About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, assisting with technical and tax queries, and providing advisory services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, including existing and new clients as the company grows.
  • Assist clients with technical and tax queries, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Be the first point of contact for clients' queries, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Review and prepare statutory limited company accounts and CT600 returns.
  • Undertake bookkeeping work for larger and more complex clients.
  • Review bookkeeping prepared by the bookkeeping team, providing feedback and solutions.
  • Review Self Assessment returns.
  • Liaise with clients and provide advisory services, including financial planning and budgeting.
  • Stay up-to-date with financial policies, practices, and regulations, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Deal with HMRC correspondence and enquiries.
  • Support third-party auditors.
  • Attend internal and client meetings as required.
  • Participate in team training and implementation of new/improved procedures and processes.
  • Charity experience is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Minimum AAT level 4 qualified with at least 5 years' practice experience.
  • Xero and Quickbooks experience and/or certification.
  • Experience with in-depth bookkeeping reviews.
  • Accounting practice experience working on multiple client accounts.
  • Excellent communication and English grammar skills.
  • Client-focused with a positive, solutions-based attitude and mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
