Position Overview

This is a remarkable opportunity for dedicated Speech and Language Therapists to become part of our Children's Speech and Language Therapy team, delivering specialized Speech & Language Therapy services to children and adolescents.

We have flexible hours available to facilitate community clinics, specialized educational institutions, and to advance our cleft lip and palate specialization. Our community clinics cater to children with various needs, including speech, early language development, voice, fluency, and social communication.

This role primarily supports community clinics, which may include central hubs as well as outreach clinics determined by service demand.

The successful candidate will be tasked with assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing a designated caseload of children.

Additionally, you will provide guidance to parents and other professionals to address the needs of children in accordance with the Care Aims approach, including establishing outcomes with key adults involved in the children’s care.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Independently evaluate, diagnose, plan, and implement an effective therapeutic service for children with diverse speech, language, and communication challenges.
  • Analyze complex cases to inform decision-making for case management, utilizing the care aims framework to develop suitable evidence-based interventions.
  • Offer advice, information, demonstrations, and training regarding specific intervention strategies for managing communication difficulties.
  • Provide timely reports to parents, guardians, and other professionals to ensure the child's needs are accurately recognized.
  • Contribute to graduated pathway plans and draft EHC Plans for SEND Casework Officers in alignment with the SEND graduated pathway.
  • Engage actively in our innovative supervision structure.
  • Participate in service development initiatives.
