About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Associate Director to join our Real Estate team at RSM. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Real Estate VAT Director and Partner to deliver exceptional VAT advice to clients in the Real Estate and Construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships and act as the principal point of contact for VAT issues and queries.
  • Deliver practical and commercial VAT advice to clients on land and property matters.
  • Work alongside our Real Estate tax specialists to provide VAT input into tax structuring and Real Estate tax due diligence projects.
  • Develop and mentor junior team members, including delegation of work, on-the-job coaching, and formal feedback.
  • Contribute to business development, including proposal preparation and building relationships with clients and targets.

About the Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a seasoned VAT professional with previous experience at Manager or Associate Director level, as well as a proven track record of winning work and unlocking fees from existing clients. You will be confident in developing junior staff and driving a positive team environment. Key requirements include:

  • CTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating at Associate Director level or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of VAT issues in the Real Estate and Construction sector.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a national team.
  • Proven experience in client handling and relationship building.
  • Embracing an inclusive approach to people development and supervision, with strong coaching abilities.
