About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Director to join our team at Gallagher. As an Account Director, you will be responsible for establishing a book of new clients and renewal portfolio, managing and providing a quality service, and meeting client demands and needs to achieve optimum profitable renewal retention rate and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage client/prospect/introducer relationships and grow the book/existing accounts, providing the most appropriate insurance and risk management solutions
  • Negotiate with insurers to obtain terms for clients that accurately and effectively match customer requirements
  • Manage own workload to effectively service client relationships and ensure placements are completed within client deadlines
  • Ensure client information and sales plans are kept up to date
  • Provide realistic plans and forecasts on customer performance
  • Analyze and interpret sales data to identify unexpected patterns and trends
  • Proactively seek out commercial opportunities and partnerships
  • Promote and sell additional applications and services to clients
  • Investigate and discover new sources of profitable business for the Operating Division and Group as a whole, including cross-selling
  • Work closely with Account Handlers and Brokers to negotiate terms and conditions of placements
  • Deal with internal and external queries from colleagues or underwriters
  • Ensure that premiums are paid in accordance with credit control requirements
About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Cert CII/ Dip CII/ Advanced Dip CII (Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications) desirable
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent is desirable
  • Good knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd's and Industry) products, services, classes of insurance including underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own role
  • Previous demonstrable experience in an Account Executive or Broker role, comfortable working to targets
  • Tactical negotiation and influencing experience with internal/external stakeholders
  • Proven rapport-building experience with internal/external stakeholders
  • Evidence of effectively prioritizing risks to manage concurrent workflow
  • Able to identify potential problems and seek advice/consultation when required
  • Robust knowledge of client market and insurance industry network
  • Able to quickly grasp and interpret salient information to maximize growth opportunities
