Director of People and Culture

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to join our team at De Vere Wokefield Estate, a large prestigious events-focused hotel near Reading, with a team of circa 300 employees.
This role involves working on site at De Vere Wokefield Estate on a full-time basis, with paid travel, as required, to other De Vere properties.
As the People and Culture Director for De Vere Wokefield Estate, you will report to our Group Head of People and Culture and oversee the Hotel's People and Culture Manager and Co-ordinator on site.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing payroll costs and driving recruitment initiatives
- Focusing on compliance, learning and development, and employee engagement
- Collaborating with our central People and Culture team, department heads, managers, and employees to provide guidance, support, and solutions to HR-related challenges
We are looking for a forward-thinking and bright personality with an intuitive, highly organized, and strategic approach.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous HR management experience within a large or multi-site hotel, hospitality, events, care, or retail environment
- The ability to influence senior colleagues and managers through a confident and knowledgeable approach of HR best practice
We offer a competitive salary of £55k-£60k per annum, plus a Bonus Incentive Scheme with the opportunity to earn up to 20% of salary based on business performance.
