Night Shift Controller

We are seeking individuals who value flexibility and are interested in shift work. The majority of the work will take place over the weekend, spanning from Friday nights through to Monday morning. However, we also cover a large number of blockades where a section of track can be completely closed 24/7 for up to 8 weeks, allowing for additional shifts during the week. Depending on your availability, you can expect anywhere from 1-3 shifts per weekend, with additional midweek shifts when required.
The location of the work can vary each week as the projects progress and move up/down the track. As a result, you will need a full UK driving license, have access to a car, and be prepared to travel up to 60 miles. This allows you to visit various locations and, if you are willing to stay in accommodation, you can increase your opportunities for additional work. In such cases, MacRail Systems Ltd will provide the accommodation and can supplement any additional travelling costs by increasing the hourly rate.
Network Rail offers a substantial bonus for shifts worked over Christmas/New Year. Shifts are paid at double time and come with a bonus per shift worked during the qualifying period (normally around the £400 per shift mark, making it a lucrative opportunity). Time and a half on Bank Holidays. Full pay if the shift is cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice. Full pay if the shift is completed early.
Our workplace is Covid-19 safe, with workers isolated in a cabin and signing in through a window. MacRail Systems Ltd is part of the Munnelly Group, and by working on assignment, you also open the possibility of working in other areas of the business, such as on construction sites (CSCS card needed) or acting as security (SIA license needed). Depending on your location and our requirements, successful candidates may also be issued a company van.
