Qualifications: Must be a Graduate, associate, or fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (formerly ICSA).

Role Overview:

As a Corporate Governance Manager at Cedar, you will be instrumental in providing expert guidance on all facets of governance and compliance. Your responsibilities will encompass advisory tasks, compliance oversight, and mentorship of junior team members. You will collaborate with governance teams across various locations and manage client projects from inception to completion. Additionally, you will contribute significantly to business growth initiatives, including pricing strategies, proposal development, and opportunity management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for governance compliance and advisory services.
  • Oversee project management to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Address technical inquiries from clients and manage a diverse client portfolio for optimal profitability.
  • Implement risk management and quality assurance protocols.
  • Business Development:
  • Drive sales and marketing initiatives for the governance function in the Southern Region.
  • Engage in national governance projects and foster new business relationships.
  • Network with internal and external stakeholders to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to marketing strategies, fee proposals, bid submissions, and presentations.
  • Manage and track the business development pipeline effectively.
  • Resource Management and Development:
  • Ensure projects are staffed with qualified personnel.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop team members while ensuring effective performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with fellow managers on resource allocation and performance reviews.
  • Assist in training initiatives and serve as a role model for the team.

Requirements:

  • Graduate, associate, or fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (formerly ICSA).
  • Proven managerial experience in a professional services firm, publicly listed company, or dedicated governance provider.
  • Proficient in Diligent Entities (formerly Blueprint) software.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with staff and clients at all levels.
  • Experience in managing and developing team members.
  • Strong project management capabilities with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Understanding of financial products, firm services, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with financial statements.
  • Experience in business development and sales.
