Job Overview

At Radius Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Lift Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Contract Lift & Plant Installations Division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Site Meetings & Surveys: Attend site meetings and surveys to assist in the production of detailed and accurate project drawings, ensuring seamless coordination between stakeholders.
  • Lifting Plans & Drawings: Develop and implement comprehensive lifting plans, elevation drawings, crane lift plans, and slinging drawings for client projects, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Coordination & Planning: Create and manage coordinated setting-out plans, logistic plans, and traffic management plans to ensure efficient and safe project execution, minimizing disruptions and delays.
  • Analysis & Documentation: Conduct thorough vehicle sweep path analysis and produce necessary documents and cost spreadsheets, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Project Estimation: Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for works, ensuring competitive and realistic project costing, and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Client Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication channels with clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate, and addressing any concerns or queries in a timely manner.
  • Quality Assurance: Undertake and record peer reviews of colleagues' lift plans to maintain high standards and accuracy, promoting a culture of excellence within the team.

Candidate Requirements

Appointed Person

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lifting plans, including risk assessments, equipment selection, and supervision, ensuring the safe execution of lifting operations.
  • Conduct thorough checks and inspections of all equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Implement effective defect and incident reporting, maintaining a culture of transparency and accountability within the team.
  • Organize and control the lifting operation, ensuring team members are fully briefed and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Authority to stop the lifting operation if necessary, prioritizing safety and quality above all else.

Lift/Crane Supervisor

  • Hold a valid certification and examination certificate, demonstrating expertise in lifting operations and crane management.
  • Verify all certification and examination certificates, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Brief all parties on the lift plan and supervise the operation, ensuring seamless coordination between stakeholders.
  • Ensure the lift aligns with the plan, recording any changes or deviations, and maintaining a culture of transparency and accountability within the team.
  • Authority to stop the lifting operation if necessary, prioritizing safety and quality above all else.

Slinger/Signaller

  • Hold a valid certification and examination certificate, demonstrating expertise in slinging operations and crane management.
  • Review and follow the Lift Plan, performing pre- and post-use checks on accessories, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Direct crane movements using agreed signals and maintain load control, prioritizing safety and quality above all else.
