The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join our team at JK Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for implementing production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements through project-based activities, and ensuring the efficient integration of new products or processes into our manufacturing operations.

Duties:
  • Plan and organise maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and optimal production levels.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and report downtime to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development and design new systems and processes to meet these requirements.
  • Ensure all product and system requirements are met from initial product conception to finished result.
  • Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs to optimise production efficiency.
  • Generate production documentation, including assembly instructions, to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Ensure product and process quality meets specifications required and support the tender process for equipment to ensure best value for money.
  • Oversee the installation of machinery and equipment and improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Remove waste from processes and implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
  • A relevant Engineering qualification (BEng, HND, HNC, etc.) and at least 5 years' experience in manufacturing or a shop floor background.
  • Experience of or qualified in Lean Manufacturing techniques and sound IT skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • A motivated self-starter who can work on own initiative and is able to adapt to changing priorities.
