Oyster Care Homes is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a General Manager. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of our care home, ensuring that we provide the highest level of care and service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day running of the care home, including the standards and quality of care, recruitment and training, communication with the team, and financial matters.
- Recognize and assess individuals' needs, involving relevant professional agencies and relatives where needed, to formulate personalized care plans for each individual.
- Provide the highest level of personal care and attention to residents, following individual care plans carefully and ensuring all contact is polite, friendly, warm, and supportive.
- Be responsible for understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements relevant to the care home.
- Administer medication to residents as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records, and responsible for ordering, checking in, and stock control of residents' prescribed medication.
- Establish and maintain effective means of communication and good relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Recruit suitable team members, conduct effective inductions, and identify and meet training needs for the team.
- Organize the team, including arranging rotas, ensuring adequate team members are employed, managing team absence, and controlling and monitoring the budget and expenditure of the care home.
- Support residents with their personal financial arrangements, maintaining confidentiality of all information.
- Be responsible for the marketing, promotion, and sales of the care home.
- Ability to control and manage budgets and accounts.
- Knowledge of the principles of sales and marketing.
- Skilled in the recruitment, selection, and retention of staff.
- Committed to a structured approach to training and development of staff.
- Understanding of the Health & Social Care Act and Health & Safety legislation.
- Leadership qualities, enthusiasm, influencing, and motivational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Professional, confident, and warm personality.
