Join us as a Lead Structural Integrity Engineer

Your Future Team:

Are you prepared to elevate your engineering career with exciting challenges and pioneering projects in the Nuclear and Defence sectors?

Assystem is expanding its Structural Integrity team and is seeking motivated Lead Structural Integrity Engineers to join our ranks. You will report to the Structural Integrity Technical Lead and collaborate within an integrated team at our client's site in Derby.

Your Responsibilities

- Provide integrity validation utilizing Finite Element Analysis and/or Code evaluations

- Support in the review of calculations

- Experience in modeling

- Comply with Assystem's quality management system

- Manage man-hour budgets for assigned projects

- If necessary, assist in proposal development and related bidding processes

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

- Experience in the nuclear sector (defence preferred), but transferable skills from other fields are welcome.

- Proven expertise in fatigue, fracture, thermal, and structural stress evaluations using finite element analysis.

- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis using ABAQUS (explicit/implicit).

- Familiarity with ABAQUS/CAE or equivalent pre/post-processing tools (desirable).

- Knowledge of code assessments to ASME B&PVC and R6; RCC-M is a plus.

- Understanding of structural integrity and defect tolerance assessments.

- Python scripting experience in the ABAQUS environment is desirable.

- Experience with CRACKEN or alternative fracture assessment methods.

- Familiarity with fatigue crack growth and initiation is desirable.

- Knowledge of the gated review process.
